Cadence Communications recently managed the PR for NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards, with great results. There are some amazing stories of organisations doing innovative and great work in the sustainability space.
We were once again the proud sponsor of the ‘Communicating for Change’ award. Love Food Hate Waste, overseen by WasteMINZ, were the winners of this category. They ran a campaign to change behaviour by reducing food waste and increasing resource efficiency.
As it happens, they sought some communications advice from Cadence in their early days of setting up this campaign, so it was really great to see them win big at the SBN awards.
Something that stood out at the awards this year was the abundance of politicians in the room, with Rt Hon Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern presenting the Supreme Award that was won by NZ Post. Other ministers presenting awards were Hon David Parker, Stuart Nash and James Shaw.
Overall it was a fantastic night and it's heartening to witness the growth of the awards from a smaller gathering six years ago when we became involved, to nearly 700 people attending the black tie event now. It demonstrates a sustainable world is taken seriously from small businesses to large corporates. Watch the short awards evening video here and consider entering next year.
Congratulations to all of this year's winners and finalists.
